In 1954, Ernest Wilkinson organized the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. In 1965, the College was divided, and the College of Social Sciences was organized. In 1980, a major reorganization combined several departments in the College of Social Sciences, and Family Living into the College of Family, Home and Social Sciences.
